Easy Low-Carb Desserts with Miracle Noodles and Miracle Rice

What most people consume for dessert, be it ice cream, cake, cookies, brownies, or other sinfully-rich, sugar-loaded treats, is not healthy. Most desserts precipitously raise blood sugar levels.  This is especially problematic in the U.S.A., a country that by the year 2050, if current trends continue, may have a sugar-related epidemic, with 1 out of 3 American adults becoming diabetic, the Centers for Disease Control predicts.

In an effort to become healthier, thousands of Americans have gone gluten-free, naively believing that avoiding gluten gives them carte-blanche to eat any dessert guilt-free. But sugar itself is gluten-free so somebody who is gluten-free could bathe in honey, molasses, agave or pure cane sugar--even raw and organic sugar--and though their blood sugar levels would be off the charts, at least they’re not consuming gluten.

Get the point? Similarly, someone who has adopted a strict vegetarian or vegan lifestyle could gorge on dairy- and egg-free desserts all day, every day, mistakenly believing their dietary habits are healthier than the typical consumer.

If you have adopted a low-carb dietary lifestyle, whether for medical reasons, say, to improve your diabetes, or for beautific reasons--looking better naked--does that mean no more dessert?

The bad news is that most conventional desserts are loaded with lots of carbs (read: sugar) and preservatives.

But that doesn't mean you have to go the rest of your life without dessert if you’re a ‘low-carber.’

Be in control of your desserts: make your own!

Perhaps you’re already familiar with how versatile Miracle Noodle and Miracle Rice products are. They look and have a similar texture (and taste when you add sauce) as regular high-calorie and high-carb pasta and rice dishes.

Both Miracle Noodle and Miracle Rice are equally well-suited to replace your favorite conventional sugar-loaded desserts, without the high-glycemic spike.

Remember eating pudding when you were a kid? It’s the rare child who doesn’t get excited about pudding.

Thanks to Miracle Rice, you can now have your pudding and eat it, too...low-carb and all. Miracle Rice Pudding is one of our most popular desserts.

Click here for a previous Miracle Noodle Facebook post to read one version of Miracle Rice Pudding.  This recipe was submitted by a Miracle Noodle lover who, for her winning recipe entry, received a two-months' supply of Miracle Noodle products.

The recipe calls for just a handful of ingredients: evaporated skim milk; egg whites; vanilla extract; konjac flour (available from Miracle Noodle), which is a no-calorie, starch-free thickening agent that is often combined with other flours or starches to reduce total calories. The sweeteners are cinnamon and stevia, both of which are very low-carb.

This version of Miracle Rice Pudding, promises the recipe’s creator, is sweet and filling, despite being low-calorie and relatively low on the glycemic index scale.

Another version of this yummy dessert satisfies chocolate-lovers’ palettes by adding cacao to the mix.

There’s also tapioca Miracle Rice pudding, which can also be made low-carb.

Miracle Noodle Cookies? Really, such a thing exists?

If rice pudding isn’t your favorite dessert, guess what? You can have your chocolate cookies and eat them, too, the low-carb way. That’s right, there’s a recipe for Chocolate Miracle Noodle Cookies.

The secret to why Miracle Noodle and Miracle Rice is so versatile is what both are derived from: the root of a yam plant found in Japan, which can take on the consistency and texture of conventional noodles and rice, and as we can see with all these yummy recipes, desserts, many of them low-carb.

Both Miracle Noodle and Miracle Rice are comprised almost entirely of fiber (with a small amount of calcium added). They are naturally zero net carbs, meaning, they don’t spend any time in a lab or special kitchen designed to remove the sugar content like other low-carb desserts are, filled with preservatives and chemicals. Miracle Noodle and Miracle Rice are both zero calorie, zero carbs and low sodium. They are the perfect guilt-free base ingredient for your favorite desserts.
